Apple introduced the newest iPhone, the iPhone 11, at their annual Apple Event presentation on Sept. 10, 2019, held on the company campus in Cupertino, Calif. Apple CEO Tim Cook announced on Tuesday that pricing for the iPhone 11 will start at $699. The new model, a glass design with a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display, will come with two cameras located on the back – one of which comes with 2x optical zoom – a Night Mode feature, and come in six colors: purple, green, yellow, white, black and red.
Standout features for the iPhone Pro and the iPhone Pro Max (not pictured), here introduced by Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller, include three rear cameras, Super Retina XDR display, four hours of battery life for the Pro and five hours for the Pro Max, and the Deep Fusion for the camera, which takes up to nine photos and uses the best part of each one to make a perfected end result.

Apple unveiled the newest model of their iPhone on Sept. 12, 2018 at the company’s annual event showcasing new products. The iPhone Xs will feature a 5.8″ super retina OLED screen; 64 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB for new storage options; and come in three colors: silver, gold, and gray. Apple also introduced the iPhone Xs Max, which will be bigger than that iPhone Xs at 6.5″. Both have a 3D touch screen, a 7 megapixel camera in the front, and a 12 megapixel camera in the back.
The iPhone X comes in two colors – silver and space gray – and comes with 64 and 256 GB options. Priced at $999, it was available for order starting October 27, 2017 and ships out on November 3.
After Apple announced the launch of the iPhone X at their special unveiling event at their campus in Cupertino, California on Sept. 12, 2017, the highly anticipated new device launched on Nov. 3, 2017. The iPhone X is an “all-glass design” and 5.8-inch Super Retina display, wireless charging, facial recognition to unlock the phone, animated emojis, an A11 Bionic chip for enhanced performance, dust and water resistance, and more.
The iPhone 8 and 8Plus were also announced at Tuesday’s event. The iPhone 8 will also feature an all glass design, protected by an aerospace-grade aluminum band. Like the iPhone X, wireless charging is possible because of the glass back.
The phones come in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch Retina HD displays, are available in silver, space grey, and a ‘blush gold,’ have a 12 megapixel sensor, and come with new photo filters. The iPhone 8 will start at $699 for 64GB and $799 for the 8Plus. Pre-ordering begins on September 15 and the phones will be available on September 22.
The wait is over! After many rumors and much speculation, Apple finally unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone 7. Wait is that an iPhone 5? Instead of going bigger and keeping their rounded-edge sleek design, Apple decided to blast from the past with a model that looks very similar to 2012’s popular iPhone 5. Internally, the phone is everything but that boasting a 12 MP iSight camera, 4K video, a super-efficient M9 motion coprocessor and faster LTE and Wi-Fi.

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced on Sept. 9, 2015 that there was a new iPhone in town. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were unveiled and as usual, boasted an array of upgraded technology. For the second year in a row, Apple unveiled two phones at the same time, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Both phones featured rounded edges, the first time that style was seen on the iPhone since 2009. While the 6 boasted a 4.7 inch screen, the massive 6 Plus featured the biggest screen on the iPhone yet, a 5.5 inch. Both models hit stores on Sept. 20, 2013 as once again hundreds of people from New York to Tokyo lined up days in advance to score the phone. With 2 models to choose from, it was the first time Apple offered a phone significantly less expensive than the latest.
Announced on Sept. 10, 2013, Apple hit their customers with not one but TWO huge updates to the iPhone. The iPhone 5s was the first phone to feature an option in gold aside from the usual black and white options. The 5s also featured a much faster operating system, Touch ID, and the beginning of health and fitness integrated apps. The same day, Apple also unveiled the 5c, the first plastic model that was cheaper and featured fun colors like green, blue, yellow and pink.
With the biggest change in the iPhone since 2007, it was no surprise that lines for the phone were also the biggest yet. People stood in lines that wrapped around the corner and down for blocks to get the sleek phone that boasted an 8 MP camera with up to 10 hours of web browsing.
Time for a bigger and brighter screen! During an Apple event on Sept. 12, 2012, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the iPhone 5, the first to feature a 4-inch screen and weigh 20% less than its predecessor. The phone was also slimmer and faster and claimed to be the biggest change in the iPhone since the first generation one in 2007.
After Steve Jobs stepped down as CEO due to his declining health, people were worried that the quality of Apple products would also diminish. Jobs left his company in good hands as the iPhone 4s was announced a few weeks later on Oct. 4, 2011. Siri, Apple voice command program was unveiled as well as a 64 GB model, the largest yet.
The high definition Retina screen had people more enticed and excited about the phone than ever. It was also the first time HD video was available on the phone to accompany the 5 MP camera on both sides. Tired of the old design, the iPhone 4 brought about one of the biggest changes ever to the design of the iPhone. It was flat, sleek and featured technology that surpassed everything on the market at the time. Not to mention, it was the first time the front facing camera was introduced to the phone beginning the generation of selfies and Facetime.
Needless to say, the 3Gs drew crowds of people around the world, all eager to stay up to date with Apple latest and greatest products. The phone hit stores on June 19, 2009 and featured 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models.
Another year, another iPhone! On June 8, 2009, Jobs announced the iPhone 3Gs, a faster and upgraded version of the 3G. Although the design of the phone was identical to the 3G, the 3Gs was twice as fast and less expensive.
Once again, thousands of people around the world stood on line for days in order to get their hands on the latest and greatest Apple technology. The phone was released on July 11, 2008 and allowed users to not only now connect to faster 3G internet, but also introduced built-in GPS and location services.
One year later, Apple CEO Steve Jobs was at it again, this time with the faster, sleeker iPhone 3G. On June 9, 2008, Jobs announced a phone that was thinner, featured a plastic back and came in black and white. The biggest news was the launch of the App Store that allowed users to access a multitude of applications, not just the ones the phone came with as in the original iPhone.
Ever since day 1, people would wait in line for days to get their hands of the first batch of iPhones before they sold out. The phone was available to the public on June 29, 2007 in only the black and aluminum color. The phone was last sold in July 2008 and has been ancient history ever since.
In 2007, Steve Jobs made history when he unveiled the first generation of the iPhone. The tiny 3.5 inch screen was the first of its kind to feature a touchscreen display that combined an iPod with a mobile web browser with a telephone. The 2 MP camera was only available on the rear of the camera (no selfies yet!) and was only available for AT&T.
