The body of former President Jimmy Carter arrived in Washington, DC on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, to lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda at the U.S. Capitol until a funeral service at the National Cathedral on Jan. 9. Carter died on Dec. 29, 2024, at the age of 100.
