Sherri Shepherd is all about “paying it forward.”
Sunny Hostin shared an unknown story about how the Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show host went the extra mile to make sure she got a fair shake while negotiating her salary on “The View.”
During a Wednesday appearance on Shepherd’s eponymous chatfest, Hostin revealed how the former co-host looked out for her upon joining the long-running ABC series.
“I don’t even know if you remember this, but when I signed my deal sheet, you gave me a call,” the former federal prosecutor shared. “I don’t know how you got my number.”

Hostin, who previously worked stints at CNN and Fox News, went on to explain how the ex “Suddenly Susan” star asked her if she was being taken care of like the other co-hosts were.
“You basically went over your salary for the entire time you were there,” she said, revealing how Shepherd also divulged what then co-host Jenny MCarthy was making. “You gave me everyone’s salary and I went back to my agent and I was like, ‘You did not get me enough money.'”
Shepherd explained that she learned that savvy financial move from another former co-host of the Barbara Walters-created series. “I got it from Rosie,” Shepherd said. “Rosie O’Donnell gave everybody’s salary and hers and you need to pay it forward.”
“It was very helpful, Sherri,” Hostin gratefully acknowledged.

Shepherd, whose newly launched solo talk show received four Daytime Emmy Award nominations last week, co-hosted “The View” from 2007 to 2014.
Two years later, Hostin joined the panel-format series, which is currently co-hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
